A chimney inspection is what we’ll do to assess the overall condition of the chimney. We typically conduct a Level 1 inspection. This is a visual inspection where we will usually look with a flashlight from the bottom of the flue up to the top, and then also look from the top downwards. We’re looking for build-up of creosote and the structural condition of the flue. Afterwards, we like to briefly evaluate the integrity of the exterior masonry and flashing, ensuring that the masonry is not loose, crumbling, spawling, or leaking.
